Marlene Amos was born on 16 June 1918 in Strasbourg to Victor Amos, a shoe salesman, and his wife Magdalena Gutzler. She had one younger brother, Johann Amos, born in 1920. Her father was involved with the Nazi party through his business (NSDAP Industrie-und Handelskammer) and through his membership of the SS Sportgemeinschaft. Marlene finished school in 1936 and began studying medicine in 1936. She became a member of the NSDStB in 1940 during her medical studies in Strasbourg. In 1941 she spent a term in Heidelberg University. Marlene became a pflichtassistentin at the Kinderklinik in the Reichsuniversität Straßburg in 1941. She was then employed as Verwalterin einer wissenschaftlichen Assistentenstelle at the Kinderklinik of the Reichsuniversität Straßburg from 1 November 1943. She married Dr Paul Linck in January 1944 in Strasbourg, and they had one child. From 1953 she was a housewife, and active member and campaigner of the following organisations, where she distributed brochures on birth control, adoption, pornography and sexuality. She also organised weekend courses for couples with marital problems, as well as organising aid for children in need: Comité de l'Association Générale des Familles du bas-Rhin Conseil Départementale de la Famille Groupe Médico-social et due Centre de planification du centre Hospitalier Universitaire Commission Nationale d'Ethique sexuelle de la Fédération Protestante de France Association des Centres de Conseils Conjugaux de France Co-responsable du Conseil Conjugale Evangélique Européen Co-responsable de la Commission franco-allemande du groupe "Jeunes Femmes".
