Dr Elena Alexandraviciene was an Assistant Arzt in the Kinderklinik at the Reichuniveristät Straßburg from September 1944 until November 1944 when the hospital and university were disbanded. Dr Kurt Hofmeier wrote of the evacuation of the clinic and mentioned that she stayed in the clinic with patients that could not be moved while the rest moved across the border to Kehl when Allied forces took Strasbourg: "Am Abend des 22. Befanden sich an Reichsdeutschen nur noch meine Oberin, mein Oberarzt, meine Sekretärin und ich in der Klinik. Die Klinik in Straßburg war mit etwa 20 Kindern belegt. Sie wurden von einer langjährig ausgebildeten litauischen Ärztin versorgt" After the clinic was returned to French administration, she retained her role in the children's clinic in 1945.
