Dr Elisabeth Melle-Dietz was an Alsatian doctor who specialised in Paediatrics. She was employed at the French Clinique Infantile from November 1940 in the role of Assistant Arzt. By March 1941 she was promoted to Voluntarische Assistent, and continued to be employed when the clinic became the Reichsuniversität Straßburg Kinderklinik under Dr Kurt Hofmeier [1]. In 1942 she joined the NSDAP. She stayed in the clinic until October 1944 in the role of Assistent Arzt. In 1946, from January until March she was suspended from practicing medicine by the Ministre de la Santé Publique. She was suspended from medical practice again for three years from 1946 as a result of Nazi sentiment "a montré des sentiments pro-Nazi". [2]
