Dr Elena Alexandraviciene was an Assistant Arzt in the Kinderklinik at the Reichuniveristät Straßburg from September 1944 until November 1944 when the hospital and university were disbanded. Dr Kurt Hofmeier wrote of the evacuation of the clinic and mentioned that she stayed in the clinic with patients that could not be moved while the rest moved across the border to Kehl when Allied forces took Strasbourg: ""
